Creative Vision Workshops and Photowalks
These half or full day workshops are conducted almost anywhere from dense urban cities to remote nature preserves. First you will learn how to find your creative vision and what visually inspires you. Then we will discuss some basic theories of photography including composition, framing and exposure. These lessons will be quickly applied as you set out on a guided outdoor photowalk to make images and focus on finding inspiration. At the end, we help you with simple image processing, publishing and archiving. Finally, you select an image to share and the story that goes with it.
Who should attend?
Active military, military veterans and family members looking for a chance to get outside and explore the world together with fresh eyes. We are family friendly and this is a great experience to share with children. You can bring your professional grade DSLR or a simple smart phone. Although you will learn some camera theory, this course is designed to focus on looking for inspiration and beauty while being in the present moment. Our instructors are experts in the field and will assist you regardless of your level of photography.
Outdoor Photography Adventures
Want to learn photography but not by sitting in a classroom? So do we! Few of us joined the military to stay inside and be stuck at a desk. Our Outdoor Photography Adventures always require some degree of fun obstacle or problem solving in addition to making images in some epic settings. Our goal is to build self-reliance and sharable photography and adventure skills that you can continue to use long after the adventure ends. We provide training, coaching and fun along the way.
These adventures scale per experience level into Novice, Intermediate and Expert and can range from a half day to 10 days in length. After the adventure, Participants publish select images and stories on digital media. In the past we have used off-roading, navigational rally raids, backpacking, camping, and photo orienteering.
For 2020 we will be sponsoring two off road photography adventures:
One team of Women to participate in the Rebelle Rally.
